Injectable treatments

Just like other parts of our bodies, skin ages over time. Excessive occupational and recreational sun exposure generally causes the most damage to our skin. This kind of exposure can result in:

  • wrinkles (either fine surface lines or deep furrows)
  • dryness
  • sagging, due to the loss of underlying tissue volume
  • skin growths and liver spots

Azure Medispa has 3 different options to choose from when looking at receiving injectable treatments. Most of the treatments offered are for cosmetic purposes, however we also utilize injectable treatments for those who have issues with excessive sweating, in which case substances like Xeomin can be used to help reduce sweat gland activity. This treatment is apparent in 14 days and can last as long as 6 months. To learn more about each product and type of service Azure Medispa offers, please read more below.

Neuromodulators: Botox® and Xeomin® block signals from the nerve to the muscle. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes fine lines to relax and soften or prevent fine lines from ever forming. It is most often used on areas of repeated muscle movement: forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines (11’s). Wrinkles caused by gravity and a loss of collagen are treated with dermal filler.

Dermal Fillers: Radiesse®, Bolotero® and Juvederm® create volume. Dermal fillers can be used to remedy a variety of facial aging concerns: adding volume which smooths the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth (called nasolabial folds or laugh lines); plumping thin lips or augmenting cheeks or jawlines to enhance their shape, restoring youthful fullness.

Dermal fillers and neuromodulators are often confused with one another. Although both procedures involve injections, Botox® or Xeomin® are used to stop muscle movement that results in wrinkles, as either treatment of prevention. Where as dermal fillers plump the skin to restore or create volume.  Because they work in different manners, many people elect to get both a neuromodulator and a dermal filler—the combination can produce a remarkably younger-looking face also known as a ‘soft face lift’.
